College Counseling
The primary goal of the Office of College Counseling
at St. Joseph Academy is to ensure that parents and students have complete access to the information available for collegiate opportunities. This unrestricted access will enable the college-bound student to plan effectively and make well-informed decisions regarding undergraduate education. We have partnered with Explore Solutions
to help each student make informed decisions and forge a path for long-term success. Last year they worked with 1,792 students attending 115 different San Diego High Schools; the total amount of merit dollars offers to their seniors last year was $27,800,000.
Explore Solutions is providing information nights for our Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior and Senior students and parents. Our seniors receive a special focus with such things as support/feedback in writing their college essays and with a meeting to explain to their parents the financial packages they are offered. There is also a meeting explaining college financing for parents of both juniors and seniors.
Our students are also invited to Explore Solutions college showcase events, their career speaker series and to college representative presentations held in local hotels.
