Crusader Flex

Welcome To Crusader Flex

Crusader Flex offers a dynamic hybrid program, blending Saint Joseph Academy’s on-campus experience with a flexible parent-school partnership. Choose between A-la-Carte registration or PSP enrollment: the A-la-Carte option allows students to enrich their Middle and High School studies with on-campus courses, while the Private School Satellite Program, overseen by an Education Facilitator, supports participation in CIF sports. Both pathways provide access to a thriving community through Student Life Activities and Spiritual Development. Discover admissions details below.

What Is Crusader Flex?

Crusader Flex is a hybrid program that incorporates the utilization of Saint Joseph Academy’s on-campus programming with a parent-school partnership in either an A-la-Carte or Private School Satellite Program setting.

The A-la-Carte option is for students who are already enrolled and attending a school, but would like to take a class offered at Saint Joseph Academy and have access to our vibrant and faithful student life community. Whether it be Moral Theology, Ancient Literature, Drama, or Chemistry, students may choose to attend up to three on-campus classes for credit, no credit, pass/fail or a letter grade. Approved classes are subject to availability. Please check with admissions or the Crusader Flex Course Offerings tab for this year's courses.

The Private School Satellite Program (PSP) is a hybrid parent-school partnership with Saint Joseph Academy to fit the educational needs of your children and family. Enrollment in Crusader Flex PSP allows families with a history of homeschooling to maintain their status as homeschool learners, while also being embraced as part of the larger Saint Joseph Academy community. The PSP option enables homeschoolers to participate in many of the benefits and programs that in-person learning entails, including eligibility for CIF athletics.* Under the jurisdiction of Saint Joseph Academy, each enrolled student/family will be assigned an Educational Facilitator who, in collaboration with parents, will help guide and support families in choosing and implementing approved curriculum that best fits the needs of the student and family, help families navigate academic requirements for graduation, and other services as needed. PSP students are allowed to take up to three on-campus classes, with the parent/student then choosing the educational method for the remaining classes. Students/families will meet with the EF every six weeks to turn in attendance logs, work samples and grades, which are then evaluated and recorded in SJA transcripts. Students will also have the opportunity to take proctored tests in core subjects (math, science, history, English) every six weeks. Apply now if you are interested in a learning environment that blends faith and reason, a community where you will meet life long friends, and a faith tradition that will form you into men and women of character.

*Students wishing to participate in CIF athletics are required to attend at least one on-campus course and take 20 semester units of SJA supervised classes. Contact Flex Coordinator for more details.
