What Is Crusader Flex?
Crusader Flex is a hybrid program that incorporates the utilization of Saint Joseph Academy’s on-campus programming with a parent-school partnership in either an A-la-Carte or Private School Satellite Program setting.
The A-la-Carte option is for students who are already enrolled and attending a school, but would like to take a class offered at Saint Joseph Academy and have access to our vibrant and faithful student life community. Whether it be Moral Theology, Ancient Literature, Drama, or Chemistry, students may choose to attend up to three on-campus classes for credit, no credit, pass/fail or a letter grade. Approved classes are subject to availability. Please check with admissions
or the Crusader Flex Course Offerings tab for this year's courses.
The Private School Satellite Program (PSP) is a hybrid parent-school partnership to fit the educational needs of your children and family. Enrollment in Crusader Flex PSP allows families with a history of homeschooling to maintain their status as homeschool learners, while also being embraced as part of the larger SJA community. The PSP option enables homeschoolers to participate in the many benefits of in-person learning, including eligibility for CIF athletics.* Under the jurisdiction of SJA, each enrolled family will be assigned an Educational Facilitator (EF) who, in collaboration with parents, will assist in choosing approved curriculum that best fits the needs of the student/family. PSP students have the option to take up to three on-campus classes, with the parent/student then choosing the educational method for the remaining classes. Families will meet with the EF every six weeks to turn in attendance logs, work samples and grades, which are then evaluated and recorded in SJA transcripts. Students may also take proctored tests in core subjects (math, science, history, English). If you are interested in a learning environment that blends faith and reason, a community where students make life long friends, and a faith tradition that will form young men and women of character, apply now.
*Students wishing to participate in CIF athletics are required to attend at least one on-campus course and take 20 semester units of SJA supervised classes. Contact Flex Coordinator for more details.
