Headmaster’s Newsletter | November-December

Luke Heintschel • Nov 16, 2021

Dear SJA Families,

With several significant annual events successfully in our rear-view mirror, and as we draw nearer to Thanksgiving and Christmas break, it has come to my attention that we need to better inform our families of the various events happening on campus. At the same time, we want to try and lessen the number of emails you’re receiving from us. This balance of sufficient communication is a tricky one to accomplish, but I believe we have a great solution: I’ll be sending out a monthly newsletter (approximately mid-way through the month) for school-wide events. Of course, for the goings on in individual classrooms, teachers will still reach out to you on their own, but for events that impact more that one class, I hope to include everything you need to know in these newsletters. I’ve attached the first one below, with all the events from now until Christmas Break.

Another important part of what we want to accomplish here at SJA is wider community formation. We want to offer whatever we can to empower families to continue at home the kind of wholistic formation that we offer here at school. To that end, I’ve included in this first newsletter several Catholic and Classical resources for parents that are easily accessible (mainly, online content) and faithful to the traditions of western civilization. As in the past several years, we’ll also be gifting families with an excellent book toward the beginning of Advent, so look out for that after Thanksgiving break! I hope also to host some community events after the New Year that further serve to tighten the fellowship of our community of families and provide formation opportunities for parents.

These monthly newsletters will evolve to meet your needs (and trim the communications fat). Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with suggestions of how I can improve these newsletters, especially with what kind of information would be helpful to you and your family in living out the Catholic faith in the education and formation of your children. I sincerely hope that these newsletters are helpful to your family, particularly newer families who aren’t as familiar with SJA’s regular traditions. I also hope that the resources provided are edifying and empower families  continually to...

Be bold and keep the faith!
